About Us

At Britannia Onsite Concrete⁠, we are a leading independent supplier of BSI-certified ready-mix and mix-on-site concrete, serving commercial, civil engineering, infrastructure and construction projects across the Midlands and beyond. With over 15 years of industry experience, we have built our reputation on quality, reliability, safety and service.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an organised and proactive Shipping Coordinator to join our team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of vehicle movements, deliveries and customer requirements while maintaining the highest levels of service. Working within a close-knit team, you will be the link between customers, drivers, operations and sales, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently and completed successfully.

Responsibilities:

Scheduling and coordinating daily concrete deliveries and vehicle movements.
Liaising with customers regarding delivery times, site requirements and order updates.
Managing driver schedules and allocating work efficiently.
Monitoring delivery progress and responding quickly to operational issues.
Maintaining accurate transport, delivery and customer records.
Communicating with production, operations and sales teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Ensuring compliance with transport, health and safety and company procedures.
Handling customer enquiries and resolving delivery-related issues professionally.
Producing operational reports and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Assisting with route planning to maximise efficiency and customer service.

Experience:

Previous experience in a transport, logistics, shipping, planning or coordination role.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage changing demands.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience within the construction, concrete, aggregates, logistics or transport sectors
