Full job description

Spring Farm Alpacas is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Fletching, East Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day farm work and public engagement.

Our Farm: Spring Farm is 110 acres of managed farmland for the benefit of wildlife while coexisting with alpacas, low impact grazers. Specialising in high quality alpacas for breeding and fibre production, we also provide alpaca experiences for the public. We excel in the care of our Alpacas using specialist handling techniques.

Employees must be empathetic, committed and able to follow instructions. Previous alpaca experience is not required as all necessary training will be provided for the successful candidate, however, veterinary nursing experience or experience with farm work or large animals is favourable.

This is a physically demanding role and will include jobs such as:

Paddock cleaning
Moving hay
Filling/moving large hay feeders
Field checks
Yard cleaning
Birthing

Due to the nature of our work the following attributes are essential:

The position will be based at Spring Farm Alpacas in Fletching, East Sussex. Working hours are from 8:30am - 5:30pm. The successful candidate will work on a zero hour contract but with a guarantee of a minimum of 3 days a week and may have flexibility with additional days/holiday cover.

This role includes pension (after a probationary period) and full training. The hourly rate advertised includes holiday pay.

Applicants must have their own transport as public transport isn’t an option.

Accommodation cannot be provided.

There is a 3 month probation period.
