Full job description

Abode Industries is developing BYGO, an advanced modular construction system combining precision engineering, automation, and AI-driven design for the future of sustainable building. We are looking for a capable Mechanical CAD Technician with strong Autodesk Inventor experience to support ongoing product development and production preparation.

This role would suit someone practical, organised, and technically strong who enjoys working on real-world engineered products in a fast-moving development environment.

The Role

You will support the engineering and development of modular construction products and associated systems, including:

3D CAD modelling in Autodesk Inventor
Production and manufacturing drawings
Assembly modelling and detailing
Design iteration and product refinement
Support prototype development and product refinement
Bills of Materials (BOM) generation and drawing control
Assisting with development of scalable production systems

Requirements

Essential

Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor
Good mechanical engineering understanding
Experience producing manufacturing drawings
Ability to work independently and remotely
Strong attention to detail

Desirable:

Sheet metal / folded steel experience
Modular product or manufacturing experience
Fabrication or workshop understanding
Autodesk Vault experience
Experience working in product development or R&D environments

Working Arrangement

Remote working fully supported
Hybrid arrangement available with office presence in London if preferred
Flexible working patterns considered
