The Opportunity
At Bloom Stories, we sit at the intersection of creativity, data-driven sensual storytelling, and seamless user experiences. We are looking for an organized, process-driven Editorial & Support Assistant to join our team.
Unlike a traditional writing role, this position supports us to maintain our premium quality by streamlining and supporting the teams at the helm of our content pipeline and user satisfaction. You will not be responsible for generating raw scripts; instead, you will focus on polishing content, and managing final grammar edits on English scripts. Supporting the content team with backend administrative workflows, and providing real-time support to our global community via email.
If you are an enthusiastic editor with an eye for grammar, love keeping production sheets pristine, understand how to make content discoverable via SEO, and enjoy helping customers, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
Customer Support & Operations (10-12 Hours/Week)
- Daily Support Tickets: Handle incoming user inquiries in Zendesk (refunds, cancellations, technical issues, etc.) with speed, clarity, and empathy. This includes investigating and resolving payment disputes, chargebacks, and billing issues directly within PayPal and Stripe.
- Review Management: Monitor and respond to app store reviews and user follow-ups, acting as the welcoming voice of our brand.
- AI Integration: Utilize AI tools like Gemini responsibly to polish, refine, and improve the efficiency of your support responses.
- Performance Tracking: Maintain high response efficiency by tracking key metrics such as First Contact Close Rate and average time per ticket.
- Reporting & Collaboration: Gather data and report support KPIs weekly to the broader team to help identify trends and friction points.
Editorial, Admin & Content Optimization (12-15 Hours/Week)
- Script Editing & Revision: Review, polish, and format scripts from our freelance writing team. You will ensure a consistent "show voice" and emotional pacing while respecting the original writer's style.
- Process & Workflow Improvement: Actively look for ways to optimize our script pipeline from draft to production sheet.
- Web Content Development & Admin: Maintain and update web content, track active assets across production sheets, and ensure no metadata detail falls through the cracks.
- SEO Optimization: Craft and optimize titles, descriptions, and tags for our audio content to ensure maximum visibility and global reach.
To give you a clear rhythm, your 25-hour week is cleanly divided into two core operational pillars:
Customer Support & Operations (10-12 hours a week): Front-line Zendesk ticket management, app store reviews, support KPI tracking, ticket trend analysis, and platform community management
Editorial, Admin & Workflow (13-15 hours per week): Script editing, English (& option for occasional German) translation editing, web content development, SEO optimization, and production tracking.
What We’re Looking For
- An Editorial Eye (Not a Writer): You don't need to face the blank page, but you do need to know how to elevate someone else's work, fix pacing, and keep the emotional tone intact.
- Communication & EQ: Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence to handle user inquiries with patience and kindness.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Excellent written English and solid German understanding (can be supported by AI) are required for cross-language editing, translations, and user support. Other languages also a plus!
- Proactive & Independent: You don't just follow a list; you actively look for ways to optimize our workflows and grow the business.
- SEO & Digital Savvy: Basic understanding of (or a strong desire to learn) SEO best practices for digital content, titles, and metadata.
- Meticulous Organizer: You love a good system. Tracking production sheets, handling repeating administrative tasks, and managing ad-hoc requests via a reliable system that works for you (like to-do lists) is exciting for you.
- Receptive: You are open to feedback, and excited to contribute new ideas to a team who is excited about the content we create.
- Tech-Comfortable: You’ll need to be confident managing your time and a remote-first team through digital means like Slack, Google Workspace and a well-organised calendar. Bonus points if you have experience with Zendesk, Gmail, Google Sheets, and using AI tools like ChatGPT to optimize your daily workflow.
- Open to experiences: You enjoy a good brainstorm and getting into the details of what makes a story work and how we can use new ideas and experiences to expand our brand content in exciting ways.
- Receptive: You actively welcome regular, balanced, and kind feedback as a tool for professional growth.
Contract & Benefits
This is a freelance position. Applicants must be operating as a freelancer and able to send us an invoice each month. We believe great work deserves great conditions—so despite being a freelance role, we offer:
