As part of our quality assurance framework and awarding body approval requirements, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support our assessment and quality assurance activities.
Role Overview
The Freelance Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) will be responsible for ensuring the consistency, validity, reliability, and fairness of assessment decisions across the centre. The successful candidate will work closely with tutors, assessors, and centre management to maintain compliance with awarding body requirements and quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct internal quality assurance of assessment decisions.
- Sample learner portfolios and assessment records.
- Monitor assessor performance and provide developmental feedback.
- Support assessment standardisation activities.
- Ensure compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality assurance documentation and records.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
- Participate in quality assurance meetings and centre reviews.
- Support preparation for external quality assurance visits and audits.
- Advise the Centre Director on quality assurance best practice.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent recognised IQA qualification).
Essential Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), Internal Verifier, or Quality Assurer within a recognised education, training, or vocational qualification environment.
- Experience of quality assuring vocational qualifications and assessments.
- Experience of working with awarding body quality assurance requirements.
- Strong understanding of assessment principles and internal verification processes.
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching, training, or assessor qualifications.
- Experience supporting centre approval and compliance activities.
- Experience working with UK-regulated qualifications.
- Knowledge of online and blended learning delivery models.
