Full job description

Fully remote working or with hybrid working one day in the office – the choice is yours.

It is a 12 month FTC – maternity cover

Reporting to the HR and OD Manager, this is a varied role:

People and Payroll Officer

Ref: lgw.481

Location: Cardiff or Remote

Type: Contract

Salary: £33,500 - £35,800

Advise and guide employees and managers on sickness absence, underperformance, discipline, grievance
Support line managers with routine casework particularly sickness health issues
Manage investigations, take notes at grievances and disciplinaries
Assist HRBPs with recruitment and exit interviews
Assist in the developing and delivering learning sessions
Using the document management and HR systems, ensure staff information is correct, up to date and recorded in line with GDPR, ensuring all staff changes are correct
Extract data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Calculate salaries, salary sacrifice arrangements, pensions
Assist with HR Systems maintenance arrangements, upgrades, testing
Fresh ideas and suggestions for improvements are welcome

The successful candidate will have:

CIPD Level 3/working towards
GCSEs with Grade C in English and Maths
Sound experience, ability and enjoyment of working on HR Systems essential
Excellent organisational skills
Keen attention to detail and accuracy for proof reading
Numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good ability using Excel and Word
Enjoy working independently as well as in a team
