Full job description

Davies Crane Ltd is a well-established and respected crane hire company, providing high quality lifting solutions across the UK. We currently seeking experienced Riggers to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled and safety-conscious individuals looking to work on a variety of projects with opportunities for overtime and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

· Inspecting and selecting appropriate rigging equipment, including slings, chains, shackles, hooks and lifting accessories.

· Attach loads to cranes and lifting devices using approved rigging methods.

· Direct crane operators during lifting operations using hand signals, radios or other communication methods.

· Assess load weights, centre of gravity and lifting requirements before each lift.

· Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging gear and report defective equipment.

· Ensure all lifting operations comply with company policies, industry standards and site-specific safety requirements.

· Participate in lift planning meetings and assist in developing safe lifting procedures.

· Monitor load movement to ensure stability and prevent damage to personnel, equipment or property.

· Maintain accurate records of inspection and rigging equipment usage.

· Assist with general site activities as required.

Essential Requirements

· ACE Card

· NVQ Level 3 in Moving Loads

· CCNSG Site Safety Passport

Desirable Requirements

· FTL (Forklift Truck) Certification

· Telehandler Certification

· MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) Certification

· CPCS Lift Supervisor Qualification

Working Schedule

· Monday to Friday

· Overtime

· Weekend availability

The ideal candidate will have proven rigging experience, a strong commitment to health and safety and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
