This is a key leadership role for a confident, experienced vet who wants genuine influence over clinical standards, team development, and the direction of a growing practice.

Our practice is a small, friendly practice that is run locally by the owners Tizzy and Sammy along with them you will be supported by 3 experienced vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA and all our wonderful support colleagues.

We are a busy, supportive first-opinion practice with a varied caseload including routine consults, medical workups, and surgery. You will have the opportunity to work cases through fully, with appropriate support and referral pathways where needed.

We have recently established a giving circle where we join our efforts to help local charities and more, like recently we are supporting 2 local cat charities and looking at plans to support the homeless community. Our purpose-built surgery (take a look at our google tour here) complete with high quality facilities and equipment, is situated on the Clwyd Retail Park in town. We have great local amenities close by and plenty of options for those all-important lunch breaks. When not working, there’s great transport links to West Wales for the stunning settings and great outdoors and over to Liverpool and Chester for the busy city life. Or if you prefer, take in all Rhyl has to offer with sandy beaches, activities galore, and sites to see; there’s truly something for everyone here!
The role:
As Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical direction of the practice. Alongside a varied first-opinion caseload, you will take responsibility for maintaining and developing clinical standards, supporting case discussions, and leading on best practice across the team.
You will:

Lead and support the clinical team, including vets and RVNs

Drive clinical standards, protocols, and continuous improvement

Support mentoring and development of junior clinicians

Contribute to clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Help shape the future growth and direction of the practice alongside the partners

Maintain a balanced clinical workload with dedicated time for leadership responsibilities
