We’re looking for an exceptional Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Richmond Hill Hotel, an independent Georgian gem overlooking London’s greenest borough. Just a stone’s throw from the royal park, we’re where city buzz meets leafy calm.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and their warmth, energy, and creativity have earned us a place on The Sunday Times and The Caterer lists of top industry employers.
Our culture? Award-winning, progressive, and delightfully independent. The building might be historic, but our thinking isn’t. We’re refreshingly free-spirited, and we like to do things differently — from our paint to our people. Here, being yourself isn’t just encouraged, it’s essential.
We believe real luxury is found in thoughtful touches, genuine care, and attention to detail. That is what makes our guests feel truly special.

A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Assistant
As a Maintenance Assistant, no two days are ever quite the same. You play a key role in making sure our hotel runs smoothly behind the scenes, ensuring every guest enjoys a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment.
A large part of your role will involve routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and maintaining air conditioning units, descaling shower heads and taps, checking lighting and fittings, and carrying out basic repairs. You’ll take pride in spotting issues before they become problems and ensuring high standards are maintained across the hotel.
Throughout the day, you’ll work closely with other departments, particularly Housekeeping and Front Office, responding quickly to any maintenance-related requests. You’ll also support the Maintenance Technicians and wider team with planned maintenance projects and ongoing improvements across the property.
Health and safety will be at the heart of everything you do. You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, equipment is used correctly, and any risks or hazards are reported and addressed promptly.
By the end of the day, you’ll know you’ve played an important part in keeping the hotel running smoothly and ensuring every guest has a seamless experience.
What we’re looking for…
-
A natural people person with a genuine love for hospitality
- Someone who brings their best, most authentic self to work
- A dynamic, positive energy that lifts the room and inspires the team
-
If this sounds like a role you could get excited about, we would love to hear from you!
Please note: all applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK, as we are unable to offer Skilled Worker sponsorship.
