Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated and a very hands on Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy café in the center of Lewes.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a very strong background in the food and beverage industry, ideally as an experienced Barista or Chef / Cook.

As the Café Manager, working 5 days per week, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service, maintaining food safety standards, and leading a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Duties

Manage daily Café operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, and customer service.
Hands on, active, direct contribution whilst also overseeing all staff and Customers.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised environment.
Train, mentor, and motivate team members to provide excellent service and develop their skills.
Co-ordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients and manage stock levels effectively.
Create and implement menus that reflect seasonal offerings while considering customer preferences.
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner to enhance customer satisfaction.
Monitor financial performance and assist in budgeting to achieve operational goals.
Promote a positive work environment that encourages team-work and collaboration among staff.
Hours 8am to 17:30pm opening and closing the Cafe fixed 5 days per week.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Experience in restaurant or hotel management is highly desirable.
Background in Cooking, Barista or culinary arts is a distinct advantage.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of Café operations.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of service.
Exceptional communication skills to interact positively with customers and staff alike.
