Are you looking for a rewarding teaching role that inspires the next generation of sociologists?
Do you want to join a supportive and dynamic department where you can make a real impact on student success?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated A-Level Sociology Lecturer to join our vibrant team in Eastbourne for a fixed term to cover Maternity Leave. This is an exciting opportunity to engage and motivate students, fostering a passion for Sociology while supporting them to achieve their full academic potential. Working across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on a fixed-term basis until the end of the academic year, you’ll be part of a collaborative environment committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

This exciting role will include:

Planning and delivering engaging A-Level Sociology lessons aligned with the AQA specification
Developing schemes of work and inclusive resources to support a diverse range of learners
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
Contributing to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and departmental initiatives

If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you:

A degree in Sociology or a related subject and strong subject knowledge
Experience teaching Sociology at A Level or a post-16 setting
Excellent communication, organisation, and a commitment to student success

College location: Based at our Eastbourne Campus.

Annual salary: Circa £30,000 - £42,000 FTE - £17,800 - £24,900 Actual

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Part Time – 22 hours/52.14 Weeks – FTC Until March 2026 (Maternity Cover)
