We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer, or for someone looking to progress in their career and step into a Junior Production Engineer role.
This position would suit an individual with a strong CNC machining background, particularly in complex milling and 5-axis machining applications.
As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical oversight of machining processes for high tolerance components on 5-axis machines, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Create engineering solutions utilising online and offline CNC programming.
- Provide tooling and fixtures to aid manufacture.
- Strive to reduce manufacturing costs within a cost reduction program by reviewing existing CNC programs and method of manufacture, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain close liaison with the Senior Production Engineer regarding the improvement of production or handling techniques.
- Utilise new technology to improve repeatability and work towards lights out machining.
- Provide support to the manufacturing production team when required.
- Incorporate Lean Manufacturing best practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experienced CNC Milling Programmer (5-axis).
- Experience with Mazak machines is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
- Mastercam offline programming experience advantageous but not essential (training can be provided)
- Demonstrated capability in delivering solutions for NPI.
- Excellent understanding of geometric tolerancing.
- Understand and interpret drawings accurately.
- Strong knowledge of cutting different materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of other manufacturing processes outside of CNC Machining to meet drawing requirements.
