Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the industry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, developing essential skills in MIG welding and assembly processes. This role is ideal for individuals with an interest in mechanical work and a willingness to learn new techniques within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the fabrication of metal components using various hand tools and power tools
- Support welding activities, primarily focusing on MIG welding techniques
- Handle sheet metal materials, ensuring precise cutting and assembly
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete fabrication tasks
- Aid in the assembly of fabricated parts according to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
- Learn to interpret technical drawings and basic measurements for accurate fabrication
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- This includes day realise 1 day a week to college to progress in a level 2 or 3 fabricator welding course
Experience
- No prior experience required; training will be provided on all relevant techniques and equipment
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or sheet metal work is a plus
- Basic maths skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks
- An interest in welding, fabrication, or mechanical work is highly desirable
- Willingness to learn new skills and develop expertise in MIG welding and assembly processes
HOURS:
8 TILL 4:30
Pay: From £8.00 per hour
