Full job description

Job Overview

We are hiring a Tour Guide for 2 days per week, primarily on weekends (specific days to be agreed upon).

The tour will start and end in Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for entertaining and engaging small groups of guests (maximum 14 people) while travelling between destinations on scheduled day tours aboard a minibus.

The ideal candidate will be confident speaking to groups, have excellent communication skills, and be able to create an enjoyable and informative experience for our guests throughout the journey.

Duties

Lead guided tours, providing informative and engaging commentary about the site’s history, architecture, and significance
Ensure visitors’ safety throughout the tour by adhering to safety protocols and managing group behaviour
Answer questions from guests, offering additional insights and personalised information where appropriate
Maintain a welcoming environment, ensuring all visitors feel comfortable and valued

Qualifications

Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
Previous experience in guiding or public speaking is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to manage groups efficiently
Knowledge of local history, culture, or landmarks is desirable
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Flexibility to work weekends.
Must be organised, reliable, and passionate about delivering exceptional visitor experiences

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
