Data Architect – AI & Modern Data Platforms

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong AI-enabled transformation exposure to lead the design and evolution of modern data platforms.

Location: London / Nottingham

About the Role

This role focuses on data architecture strategy and pipeline modernisation, with a particular emphasis on AI-assisted transformation rather than infrastructure or platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own end-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers
Design and implement scalable data pipelines using PySpark and AWS Glue
Establish standardised, modular, metadata-driven transformation frameworks
Lead Snowflake data modelling, including optimisation of the consumption layer
Ensure alignment with data governance, lineage, and observability standards
Drive AI-assisted pipeline migration and conversion patterns (no requirement to build AI engines)
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions

Core Focus Areas

Data architecture strategy
Pipeline modernisation
AI-enabled transformation approaches

Required Skills & Experience

Strong expertise in:

PySpark
AWS Glue
Snowflake
Apache Airflow

Solid understanding of:

Data architecture principles
Data governance and lineage

Experience with:

AI-assisted workflows / prompt-based tooling
Modern data transformation patterns

Nice to Have

Exposure to infrastructure or platform engineering (non-core)
