Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and assisting with accounts processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the financial services sector and gain hands-on experience with leading accounting software. The role is paid and ideal for candidates eager to contribute to a dynamic organisation while enhancing their professional expertise.

Responsibilities

Manage data entry tasks related to accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date
Assist with processing invoices, expense claims, and payments using accounting software with Xero & Hubdoc.
Support the reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports as required
Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with organisational policies
Maintain organised records of all transactions and documentation for audit purposes
Contribute to month-end closing activities by providing necessary data and reports
Prepare VAT returns.
Prepare Payroll.

Skills

Proven experience with accounting software Xero & Hubdoc.
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial documentation management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, within a team environment
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures in a fast-paced setting
