Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts/Administration Officer to join our friendly team at our base in Goudhurst.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting software and administrative support to contribute to a dynamic organisation.

Duties

- Maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks

- Processing and organising receipts, expenses and purchase invoices

- Reconciling bank and credit card transactions

- Raising and sending customer invoices

- Monitoring outstanding invoices and following up on overdue payments

- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities

- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns

- Ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date

- Liaising with management regarding financial information and account queries

- Supporting general finance administration as required

Requirements

- Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts administration, or finance support role

- Experience using QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)

- Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

- Good organisational and time-management skills

- Confidence working independently and managing their own workload

- Professional and effective communication skills

This position is ideal for a motivated individual seeking to utilise their accounting expertise within a supportive environment. The role requires a proactive approach to managing financial data and administrative duties, contributing significantly to organisational efficiency.
