Hawtbush Farm is a beautiful 140-acre organic farm in East Sussex, featuring stunning wildflower meadows, a seven-bedroom holiday cottages, and a seasonal glamping site. The farm also hosts an exclusive wedding and private events venue set in a truly remarkable rural setting.
Gun Brewery is an award-winning craft brewery based on the same estate, with a popular taproom open to the public with an events space as well as a new taproom and events space in Eastbourne.
Together, the two businesses offer a unique and vibrant hospitality experience in the heart of the East Sussex countryside.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Venue Manager & Events Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day management of our holiday lets, and hospitality operations for Hawtbush Farm and our private events for Gun Brewery as well as working with our Wedding Manager to help deliver weddings at Hawthbush Farm.
This is a varied and rewarding role ideally suited to someone with strong organisational skills, a genuine passion for hospitality, and the drive to grow a business. You will be the first point of contact for prospective and confirmed clients, and will manage the full customer journey from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvents — Sales & Coordination
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to generate new private event enquiries (weddings, celebrations, corporate events).
- Manage inbound enquiries via phone and email, providing prompt and professional responses
- Conduct property viewings with prospective clients
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, negotiating and agreeing terms
- Prepare and issue contracts, invoices, and payment schedules
- Coordinate all event logistics, working closely with clients to ensure their vision is delivered
Holiday Lets & Glamping
- Manage day-to-day operations of the 3 holiday cottages, and small glamping site
- Drive occupancy through proactive marketing, including social media and platforms such as Airbnb
- Respond to guest enquiries and manage bookings and check-in/check-out processes
- Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and gather reviews and feedback
Property & Operations Management
- Manage and schedule cleaning and housekeeping staff to ensure all properties are guest-ready to the highest standard
- Coordinate with handyman and maintenance staff to ensure properties are well maintained
- Order and manage stock of cleaning materials, toiletries, and bar drinks for events
- Monitor and replenish consumable items and replace worn or damaged property items as needed
- Conduct property checks ahead of guest arrivals and following departures
Marketing & Social Media
- Create and manage engaging content across social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Maintain and update property listings on booking platforms
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow brand visibility and direct bookings
- Collaborate with the Gun Brewery team on cross-promotional activity
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in events coordination, venue management, or hospitality management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Saturday work (up to 42 out of 52 weekends per year)
- Strong organisational ability with high attention to detail
- Confident, professional telephone manner and customer-facing presence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Competent with email, booking systems, and social media platforms
- Own car essential
Desirable
- Experience managing holiday let properties or short-term rental platforms (e.g. Airbnb)
- Background in wedding or private event coordination
- Experience with invoicing and basic financial administration
- Familiarity with social media content creation and marketing
- A genuine love of the countryside and rural lifestyle
