Durham County Council have an exciting opportunity for the role of a permanent Floor Layer working within Corporate Property and Land, Strategic Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance Team.
WHAT IS INVOLVED
The post holder will carry out Floor Laying duties as required by the Roofing, Painting and Flooring Manager; and additional duties as required by the Strategic Facilities Management Team.
With a proven track record in floor laying, you will primarily be working in a busy repairs and maintenance section within Durham County Council establishments.
You may also be required to work on major Durham County Council construction projects carrying out joinery works.

WHAT WILL I NEED
You must be educated to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, in Floor Laying.
You will need experience on maintenance and/or contractual projects in industrial and commercial buildings is desirable, along with the ability to:
- Engage with customers and stakeholders
- Special attention to detail to deliver a quality finish
- Work on your own and within a team

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed. The appointment will also be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category or vehicle.
If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
