About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing and ambitious bakery specialising in printed cupcakes, biscuits, icing toppers and other sweet treats.
We are looking for a hands-on, practical and detail-focused team member to join our small production team. A key part of this role will involve preparing and printing edible icing toppers using edible ink printers and computer software. This includes setting up customer artwork, checking designs, colour matching images where needed, printing onto icing sheets, and cutting icing discs ready for production.
You will also support the wider bakery team with packing orders, preparing products for delivery, keeping the bakery clean and tidy, and helping with general bakery tasks during busy periods.
No previous edible printing experience is required, as full training will be provided. However, confidence using computers, strong attention to detail and an interest in creative production, print or design work would be a big advantage.
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is preferable..
Responsibilities
The main duties of the post include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing customer artwork and designs for edible printing
- Using edible ink printers to print onto icing sheets
- Colour matching and checking customer designs before printing
- Cutting icing discs and toppers ready for bakery production
- Checking print quality, accuracy and consistency
- Keeping the edible printing area clean, organised and stocked
- Supporting the bakery team with decorating and finishing baked goods when required
- Packing and wrapping customer orders ready for dispatch
- Helping prepare products for nationwide delivery
- Keeping the bakery clean and tidy
- Ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are maintained at all times
- Supporting other areas of production during busy periods
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Confident using computers and willing to learn specialist printing software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Practical, hands-on and organised
- Able to work carefully with customer logos, images and designs
- Interested in creative production, printing, design or bakery work
- Able to listen carefully and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Good planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines
- A positive attitude with high levels of energy and enthusiasm
- Flexible and willing to help across all areas of a fast-paced bakery environment
- Able to work on own initiative and manage workload with limited supervision
- Previous experience in edible printing, design, print production or artwork preparation would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Bakery, food production or packing experience would be desirable
- Understanding of allergens and food safety desirable
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferable
