Job Title

Site Manager / Joiner

Reports To

Construction Manager / Director

Job Purpose

To oversee the day-to-day management of construction and refurbishment projects while carrying out or supervising joinery works where required. The Site Manager / Joiner is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management

Manage daily site operations from start to completion.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
Prepare and maintain project programmes and work schedules.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Monitor project progress and resolve site issues promptly.
Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
Maintain accurate site records.
Liaise with clients and surveyors.
Organise material deliveries and site logistics.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Joinery Duties

Carry out first and second fix joinery where required.
Install doors, windows, kitchens, flooring, staircases, skirting, architraves, and bespoke timber work.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ensure all joinery work meets company quality standards.
Assist with snagging and final project handovers.

Health & Safety

Enforce Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks.
Complete risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
Ensure correct use of PPE.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.

Quality Control

Inspect workmanship throughout each stage of the project.
Ensure defects are identified and rectified promptly.
Maintain high standards of finish and customer satisfaction.

Communication

Act as the main point of contact on site.
Attend project meetings.
Provide regular progress updates to management and clients.
Build positive relationships with customers and subcontractors.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction methods.
Proven experience managing construction or refurbishment sites.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
CSCS Gold or Black Card
First Aid at Work
