Job description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Support Worker for our Leaving Care department.

Finefair provides accommodation and floating support and guidance to vulnerable young people from 16- 25 years. Most interventions involve providing and supporting young people, whilst working in partnership with social workers and other professionals around the young person to develop their independent living skills.

We focus on creating a caring and supportive interaction between our staff and young people. We promote independence and the opportunity for each young person to achieve, so they may grow in self-confidence and self-awareness.

Purpose of the job:

As a Young Person’s Co-Ordinator, you will assist the Leaving Care Manager and support workers to ensure care leavers receive the necessary support for their transition to independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

- Follow the company's policies and promote a respectful work culture.

- Collaborate effectively with the team and ensure everyone's well-being.

- Maintain and manage case notes and related documentation.

- Ensure timely submission and review of case notes by support workers.

- Communicate any issues with case notes to the Leaving Care Manager.

- Track and discuss concerns about case notes and invoices.

- Update engagement trackers and manage financial records.

- Assist in monitoring tasks and collecting feedback from young people monthly.

- Prepare for and participate in staff meetings, including taking minutes.

- Handle general administrative tasks, including file upkeep and archiving.

- Supervise staff and assist with recruitment and training of new support workers.

- Conduct property visits and support young people in property-related matters.

- Participate in meetings with Local Authorities and assist with disciplinary matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Certification in community and youth work (optional).

- Minimum 2 years of experience working with young people (preferred).

- Familiarity with office administration (essential).

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.

- Strong basic education (GCSE or equivalent).

Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of independence skills and care legislation.

- Good interpersonal, communication, and observation skills.

- Ability to maintain professional standards and report issues effectively.

- Clear DBS or appropriate record.

Attitude:

- Value diversity and maintain confidentiality.

- Willing to learn and contribute to team discussions.

- Accountable for personal conduct and behavior.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
