St Julians is a private members club set within 70 acres of beautiful parkland, grazing fields, woodlands, and manicured gardens.
Our gardens include large polytunnels, a market garden, and propagation greenhouses. Across the wider estate we maintain three swimming pools, several playground areas, tennis courts, car parks, and roadways. We also manage our own water and sewage systems and operate a woodchip boiler to heat the house and pools seasonally.
We run a successful “garden to fork” programme with our commercial kitchen and occasionally sell surplus produce to members.

Summary
Join our team as a part-time gardener at the St Julians Club. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining the stunning outdoor spaces that define our club’s reputation for excellence and relaxation.
ResponsibilitiesThe role
The Gardener will work alongside, and under the guidance of, the Head Gardener. In the Head Gardener’s absence, you will help oversee day-to-day responsibilities associated with the role.
Key responsibilities include:
· Maintaining and improving beds, urns, and planters, including sourcing and growing plants from seed or plugs
· Assisting with the planning and development of the kitchen garden, working collaboratively with the Head Chef and flower arranger
· Delivering a wide range of practical horticultural tasks to ensure the grounds are consistently maintained to a high standard
· Supporting the development, enhancement, and conservation of the gardens and wider estate
· Prioritising tasks effectively and working within agreed budgets
· Supplying fresh micro herbs and seasonal produce to the kitchen
· Supporting general estate management tasks alongside the Groundsman, including maintenance of garden equipment, buildings, and fruit trees
· Additional duties may be required depending on the needs of the business this may include our pool area.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, practical, and enjoys working outdoors as part of a small team.
You may already have professional horticultural experience, or you may be an enthusiastic amateur gardener looking to develop your skills further. This role could also suit someone returning to work after a career break who is looking for flexible, rewarding part-time work.
You will ideally have:
· Practical gardening or horticultural experience
· A good understanding of horticultural techniques and plant identification
· Strong organisational and communication skills
· A proactive and collaborative approach to work
