About the Role
Painted Bespoke Joinery is seeking an experienced Bespoke Joinery Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team at our Croydon factory.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has worked within a joinery workshop, furniture manufacturing facility, cabinet-making business or CNC production environment and is comfortable operating industrial woodworking machinery.
We are looking for a practical, hands-on individual who takes pride in producing accurate work, maintaining machinery and supporting the smooth operation of a busy manufacturing facility.
You do not need CAD experience for this role and training will be provided.
However, you must have experience operating woodworking machinery and be confident working from production drawings, cutting lists and manufacturing paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Set up and run HOMAG beam saws, edge banders, vertical drilling machines and CNC machinery.
Read production paperwork, cutting lists and manufacturing drawings.
Inspect materials and finished components for quality and accuracy.
Carry out routine machine maintenance, cleaning and daily checks.
Report faults and assist with machine troubleshooting where appropriate.
Work closely with designers, CNC programmers, factory managers and bench joiners.
Assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials throughout the factory.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Support continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience within a joinery, furniture manufacturing or woodworking environment.
Experience operating one or more of the following:
- HOMAG Beam Saws
- HOMAG Edge Banders
- HOMAG Vertical Drilling Machines
- CNC Woodworking Machinery
Strong understanding of woodworking materials including MDF, MFC, plywood, veneered boards, laminates and solid timber.
Ability to read production drawings and manufacturing paperwork.
Mechanically minded with the ability to carry out basic machine maintenance and adjustments.
Good attention to detail.
Physically fit and capable of working in a busy manufacturing environment.
Reliable, punctual and proactive attitude.
Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures.
Full UK work authorisation.
Ability to commute daily to Croydon or relocate if required.
Highly Desirable
Experience operating HOMAG machinery.
CNC machine operation experience.
Bench joinery or cabinet-making experience.
Forklift licence.
Experience within a high-end bespoke joinery manufacturer.
Knowledge of machine servicing and preventative maintenance.
Leadership or supervisory experience.
