Portico have an opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join the business to work on nightshifts supporting the SHEQ team with the efficient and effective management and development of health and safety at work, in accordance with legislation and company standards, policies and procedures. This is a varied diverse and interesting role where no two days are ever the same.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required:
· Two years’ experience working within Health and Safety.
· Knowledge of ISO: 90001.
· Experience within a port industry is desirable.
· Working in variety of different environments would be advantageous.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:
· Provide guidance and support to Portico’s three businesses - Portico Shipping, Portico Port Services & Portico Logistics on all SHEQ related requirements.
· Build a strong connection with night operations.
· Promote a Health & Safety culture.
· Conduct daily night walk arounds and challenge bad practice.
· Lead SHEQ workshops covering new SHEQ / PSS topics.
· Work with the Group Head of SHEQ to target areas of concern, based on Near Misses and investigation reports.
· Provide SHEQ training, - First Aid, Mental Health, Fire Marshal, Internal IOSH Working Safely.
· Conduct internal audits.
· Provide a D&A testing service on nights.
· Supervise, support and train the SHEQ apprentice.
· Help relevant departmental managers Implement new Risk Assessments and help update existing Risk Assessments.
· Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
· Review incident reports and track corrective actions.
· Support compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices.
· Act as a key contact for operational staff regarding providing safety information on nights.
The work pattern is 5 nights per week to be worked Friday-Tuesday x 8 hours, start/finish time to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Pay: £40,000.00 per year
