Pay: £13.50 Per hour

Hours: 36 hrs contract Friday Saturday Sunday days

As a Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment by protecting people, property, and assets while delivering excellent customer service. The Security Officer will work in line with Assignment Instructions and site procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and security. As a Security Officer, you will demonstrate Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.

Please note: A full and valid SIA Licence is required before starting operational shifts.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Protect site, assets, and people through patrols, CCTV monitoring, and access control.
Follow Assignment Instructions and maintain accurate incident logs.
Enforce site safety and security procedures professionally.
Support health & safety: report hazards, assist with evacuations, respond to alarms.
Help prevent loss, theft, and damage; report suspicious activity.
Operate security equipment and follow “stop and search” policies.
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
Handle calls, assist visitors, and ensure smooth shift handovers.
Support management and uphold company values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a professional and reliable Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment within a world-class science and engineering organisation.

Valid SIA Licence or currently working towards one
Previous Security Officer experience
Right to work in the UK
Aged 18+
Five-year checkable work history
No criminal convictions
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Committed to protecting people, property, and assets
Able to demonstrate Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times

Desirable

Full UK driving licence and access to transport (rural location)
First Aid qualification
Experience in corporate, defence, or high-security environments
