Summary
We are seeking a Trainee Solicitor to join our dedicated team in Leith, Edinburgh. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your legal skills within a supportive and collaborative environment while gaining practical experience across Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Conveyancing, Leasing and Executry Administration. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced solicitors and paralegals while building the knowledge and skills required for a successful legal career.
Responsibilities
- Assist solicitors and paralegals with residential conveyancing transactions including sales, purchases, transfers of title and remortgages.
- Support commercial conveyancing matters including acquisitions, disposals and refinancing transactions.
- Assist with commercial and residential leasing work, including the preparation and review of lease documentation and related correspondence.
- Support the administration of executries, including gathering estate information, preparing documentation and liaising with beneficiaries and third parties.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, dispositions, leases and executry papers.
- Conduct legal research and assist with case and transaction management.
- Communicate professionally with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors and other solicitors.
- Maintain accurate and up to date case files and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Attend client meetings, settlements and court hearings where appropriate.
- Keep abreast of developments in conveyancing, leasing, executry and private client law.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or recently completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
- Strong interest in Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Conveyancing, Leasing and Executry work.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous legal work experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional attitude with a commitment to learning and development.
Pay: From £25,950.00 per year
