Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 37.5 (Saturday to Thursday- 10PM to 6AM)

Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves ensuring that all aspects of the cleaning service are carried out and maintained to the required standard, along with conducting compliance audits and inspections of internal cleaning standards and documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out nightly checks to confirm that all tasks have been completed, maintaining the highest standards of health and safety culture on site, and driving continuous improvements in site cleaning standards. Additionally, the role requires providing training and raising awareness among all nightshift staff regarding procedures relevant to their roles.
The ideal candidate must have previous supervisory experience, adopt a flexible approach to the role, and be both a team player and capable of working independently. Reliability and trustworthiness are essential, and the candidate must be able to work within the required shift pattern as needed to meet contractual requirements. They will also be expected to undertake any other related duties within their capability as directed by the Account Manager and in line with business needs. Openness to carrying out any necessary training for the role and personal development is important. While experience is preferred, it is not essential, as full and ongoing training will be provided. A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic are a must, along with a mindset that aligns with delivering excellence in service, striving to be the best in everything, continuously questioning current practices by asking how tasks can be improved or done better, and maintaining enthusiasm, passion, and enjoyment in their work.
The role also involves inducting and developing new employees, ensuring they are properly onboarded and supported in their roles. The individual will be expected to communicate effectively with all team members on a regular basis, fostering an environment that encourages feedback and two-way communication. They will participate in projects as requested in order to drive continuous improvement across operations, and must actively comply with and enforce all relevant statutory, company, and site policies and procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The role's key responsibilities include supporting new employees through induction and training to ensure they consistently deliver high-quality cleaning standards. The individual will be required to check cleaning standards throughout the night and at final handover, ensuring they meet client requirements. They will oversee the correct use and storage of personal protective equipment (PPE), set housekeeping standards for the team, and escalate any failures accordingly. Monitoring the safe use of chemicals is also essential, ensuring that they are handled and stored safely at all times. The role involves supporting the Account Manager in investigations and disciplinary processes, as well as completing training records to ensure all staff records are accurate and that the organization remains audit-ready. Additionally, the individual must complete daily, weekly, and periodic sign-off sheets each morning during their shift, maintaining audit readiness at all times. Working in conjunction with the Account Manager, they will set up training plans and performance improvement plans for relevant colleagues, as well as plan and execute periodic cleans when required.
The individual will also monitor staff levels during the shift, escalating any issues and working on cover plans to ensure all resources are deployed effectively. They are expected to motivate and lead the team by example, conduct a start-of-shift briefing (or “huddle”) to set expectations for the shift, and complete a daily Manager handover form and checklist. Additionally, they will manage Concept calls and allocate tasks accordingly to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Health and Safety Responsibilities
All employees have a legal responsibility for their own health and safety at work, as well as for the health and safety of others. They are required to work in a safe manner at all times, following the documentation and procedures provided. This includes ensuring that all chemicals are handled and used correctly in accordance with the relevant COSHH assessments, and taking care not to misuse or interfere with any equipment or provisions put in place for health and safety purposes. Additionally, employees must fully cooperate with their employer on all matters relating to health and safety to maintain a safe working environment.
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all accidents, instances of occupational ill health, incidents, and near misses are effectively and promptly reported, investigated, and followed through to conclusion using the systems in place, such as Accident and Incident Report Forms, while also ensuring that their team fully complies with these requirements. They must carry out regular inspections of health and safety systems, documentation, equipment, PPE, working practices, and personnel to develop and maintain a safe working environment. Additionally, the Supervisor is required to inform the client of any inadequacies, malfunctions, or design issues related to equipment, building fabric, or processes in order to improve health and safety for all personnel on site. They must also ensure that only trained and certified staff are deployed to carry out specific activities.
