Full job description

The Long House Surgery is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to join their friendly team of receptionists. As part of this team you will be responsible for providing a welcoming, efficient and friendly service to our patients.

The successful candidate will be a motivated and flexible individual with good communication and interpersonal skills; competent computer skills are essential with the ability to work accurately and conscientiously within an area of high confidentiality. The hours will be part time on a permanent basis 15-25 hours per week. We can possibly be flexible on days and times but they will be during the surgery opening hours of Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm.

There will occasionally be the requirement to assist in the provision of additional hours to cover annual leave and unplanned absences, therefore flexibility is essential.

The role involves being the first point of contact for our patients and providing administrative support to the GPs.

Duties include:

Welcoming patients to the practice
Booking appointments
Answering telephone queries
Managing email inboxes
Processing prescription requests
General administrative tasks
Helping ensure the smooth running of the practice

Requirements:

Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Pleasant and caring approach
Discretion when working with sensitive information
