Full job description

Angloco is a British manufacturer of specialist fire-fighting and rescue vehicles and equipment, supplying customers in more than 70 countries worldwide.

We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team in Batley, helping to assemble components and equipment for our specialist fire and rescue vehicles.

This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment and would suit someone with previous experience in assembly, manufacturing or a similar practical role.

Duties will include:

Assembling and fitting mechanical components and equipment
Working on different stages of the vehicle build
Checking completed work and carrying out basic quality checks
Following drawings, instructions and specifications
Using hand and power tools as required
Making sure work is completed safely and to the required standard
Carrying out other general manufacturing duties when required

About you:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is essential. Full training will be provided for the specific work and equipment used at Angloco.

We are looking for someone who:

Is reliable and punctual
Has good attention to detail
Can follow instructions and specifications accurately
Can work well independently and as part of a team
Is practical, hardworking and willing to learn new skills
Is comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment
Can meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for periods of time

The role is expected to be primarily day shift; however, shift working may be required and will form part of the contract.

Pay and Benefits:

£13.45 per hour, with pay depending on experience
Company sickness scheme after a qualifying period

All required PPE provided

You'll be part of a skilled team building specialist fire and rescue vehicles and equipment for customers around the world. It's a varied role where you'll be able to see the vehicles come together from the build stage through to the finished product.
