We’re looking for an Associate Accountant, Revenue for our office in Sheffield, UK. The position is full-time and will be required in the office a minimum of 4 days per week. You’ll be part of a high-performing team underpinning the integrity and efficiency of our EMEA, UK and DACH revenue accounting operations.
The Associate Accountant Manager, Revenue will be part of the Finance Team based in our Sheffield Office and will report directly into the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting. This role has exposure to the revenue accounting function across EMEA, UK and DACH legal entities, with accountability for monthly management reporting, balance sheet integrity, year-end audit readiness under both local statutory GAAPs and US GAAP.

You will also:

Perform month end analysis on recognised revenues by customer, analysing variances to budget and prior periods.

Review and approve the set up of customer contracts in accordance with Aptean methodology to ensure the correct flow of revenue.

Liaise with Project Managers/Account Managers on revenue performance, ensuring accuracy on project set up.

Ensure that financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs.

Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner.

Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments.

Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements.

Support with Group and local Statutory audits.

Support with group acquisition integration work.

Adhoc projects as required by management.
To be considered for this role, we’re looking for someone with:
-
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with some prior experience in a finance role including experience using an ERP system.

A demonstrable commitment to your own professional development, ideally already on a path to a professional accountancy qualification.

Strong IT skills, in particular the use of Excel formulas and pivot tables.

Ability to grasp complex concepts and unafraid to ask questions to broaden understanding.

Some experience in analysing financial data, identifying and understanding trends.

Strong teamwork ethic, with ability to work flexibly to support the wider revenue and accounting team.

Organised, with attention to detail but with an ability to prioritise and experience of working to deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.

Previous experience in a software business would be advantageous.

Our business is primarily conducted in English, but with a broad European presence any language skills would be desirable.
