Marcegaglia Stainless Sheffield is recruiting for a Refractories Team Worker to join our meltshop, SMACC.
The successful candidate will be working 8 hours, morning (06:00-14:00) and afternoon (13:00-21:00) shifts including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and become competent in using various health, safety, and environmental systems in place, to comply with internal and external requirements.
- Gain an understanding of the requirements of Refractory bricklaying.
- Carry out Refractory installation and repairs.
- Conduct wrecking activities.
- Take delivery of refractory stocks and consumables.
- Recycling and reclamation of suitable materials.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement process within the Refractories department and the wider organisation.
- Use computer systems effectively to complete or record activities as required.
- Forklift Driving
Skills & Experience Required
- Be trained to City and Guilds level 2 in bricklaying or similar.
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of bricklaying activities
- Be willing to work flexibly in a team to meet the operational demands of the business.
- Previous experience of working in the steel industry is desirable.
- Good timekeeping and attendance record.
- A positive attitude and good team working ability.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to remain productive at all times.
- Adaptable, to ensure development within a demanding but rewarding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to ensure effective working across the organisation.
