Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Panel Beater / MET to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in panel and demonstrate the ability to repair various types of vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
The role will initally be based at our Honley site in Huddersfield.
Responsibilities
- Whilst working on all jobs, identify and report all apparent other faults or work that is found to be required, or considered to be advisable in the interests of safety and reliability.
- Identify and utilise the correct methods of working, tools and equipment by using your experience, skills, training and industry knowledge. Referring to the available technical information where appropriate.
- Complete all job related and company documentation and administrative duties accurately and promptly.
- Work safely and efficiently in order to satisfactorily complete job allocated to you, recording times as required.
- To keep work area clean and tidy.
- Assist colleagues as required, including supervising any trainees.
- Promptly and accurately notify all technical and other queries to your supervisor.
- Work co-operatively with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Carry out road testing of vehicles when required in a safe and legal way. Checking first for basic roadworthiness and using defensive driving techniques
- Keep industry skills and knowledge up to date. Make effort to gain appropriate knowledge of new vehicles. Attend internal and external training as required by the management.
- Comply at all times with the company’s policies and instructions on all relevant subjects including Health and safety, Coshh , Personal protective equipment, security and vehicle movement.
- Perform in a suitable manner any other tasks and duties that may be reasonably requested of you by the management to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the business.
- To ensure exchange or unrequired parts/ items are returned to the supplier
- Notify the management of any fixed penalty, conviction or pending prosecutions that may apply to you or any criminal offences.
Skills
- Proficiency in repair techniques and tools.
- .Qualified Panel Beater/MET
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software is advantageous.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
- Previous experience as a mechanic in a Bodyshop or service centre.
