Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Outreach Tutor and Wellbeing Mentor, where your passion for education and dedication to student success will make a meaningful impact. In this role, you will provide targeted academic support and emotional guidance to children and young people, fostering a positive learning environment that encourages growth, confidence, and resilience. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to empower youth through engaging tutoring sessions and wellbeing initiatives, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Duties

Deliver personalized tutoring sessions in core subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote active learning and critical thinking skills.
Build trusting relationships with students, providing emotional support and mentoring to enhance their wellbeing and self-esteem.
Collaborate with educators, parents, and caregivers to monitor student progress and tailor interventions accordingly.
Facilitate group activities focused on social-emotional learning, resilience building, and peer support.
Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and wellbeing initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
Promote a safe, inclusive environment where all students feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

Prior experience in tutoring or teaching children or young people in educational settings.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
Experience working with children requiring special education or additional learning support is highly desirable.
Knowledge of teaching strategies that accommodate different learning styles and developmental needs.
Passion for supporting youth development through education and wellbeing programs.
Excellent organizational skills to plan sessions, track progress, and coordinate with team members.
Ability to remain energetic, positive, and proactive in a fast-paced environment dedicated to student success.
