Full job description

Delivering top class care to our patients:

· Commitment and focus on individualised patient care, focussing on quality, safety and innovation

· Providing skilled and considerate nursing care to patients considering their specific needs

· Preparing the treatment room/equipment and providing specialist assistance to the clinicians as required

· Promoting the incorporation of health education into patient care, ensuring safe discharge of patients

· Fully document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate records and documentation

· Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff

· Undertake extended roles such as IV cannulation

· Attend and participate in team briefing

Driving continuous improvement of the performance and quality of care of the centre:

· Support the Centre Director in facilitating communication and problem solving, establishing effective working relationships between clinicians and centre staff to develop a culture of continuous improvement that focusses on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

· To take responsibility for the delivery of clinical and operational excellence to our paediatric and adult patients as well as continual improvement of the Skin Health and Allergy service within the Centre.

· Leads and participate in audits of the Skin Health and Allergy service within the Centre

· Contribute to research-based care and other practice development initiatives

· Ensure robust risk assessment processes are in place

· To be proactive in managing adverse incidents/situations.

· Support the team in working in the most efficient and clinically effective way whilst seeking new ways to improve service delivery and adopting innovations

· Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise

· Actively participate in mentoring and developing junior members of the team

Profile

Key skills

· High levels of motivation, willing to gain extended skills and work collaboratively to meet the needs of the service

· Excellent organisational skills

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· The ability to set, implement and evaluate standards of practice

· The ability to work across functions and to manage pressure

· Strong numeracy and literacy skills

Experience & Qualifications

· Qualified experienced Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

· With experience working in Dermatology preferably with experience working in Phototherapy or Paediatric Dermatology (essential)

· Previous experience assisting in minor surgical procedures (essential)

· Current ILS certification or ALS certification (desirable)

Pay: £36,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
