Overview
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Part-Time Retail Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with customers and thrive in a dynamic retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting merchandising efforts, and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish, is highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. This position is ideal for someone organised, with strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Making fresh popcorn and candyfloss for
- Supporting merchandising activities, including stock organisation and visual displays
- Upselling products to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Managing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Providing information about products and store policies clearly and confidently
- Maintaining a tidy and welcoming store environment by restocking shelves and ensuring displays are attractive
- Assisting with inventory checks and stock replenishment as needed
- Supporting organisational tasks such as scheduling, time management, and maintaining store records
Skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or additional languages is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods
- Good phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries over the phone
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales performance
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays
- Organised approach to tasks, demonstrating attention to detail and reliability
