Location: Royston / Cambridge / Hertfordshire area

Start date: ASAP
Work pattern: Regular on-site filming plus remote editing/posting

We are looking for a proven freelance short-form content creator to help us produce regular video content for social media.

This is not a traditional social media manager role. We are looking for someone who can come on-site, film content, edit short-form videos, and help post/schedule across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook.

The goal is to produce a high volume of short-form content each month, ideally around 20-30 short videos per month, using regular filming sessions and batch content creation.

This role would suit someone who has experience creating TikToks, Reels, Shorts, UGC-style content, social-first video, or content for small/local businesses.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Coming on-site regularly to film content
Planning short-form video ideas and hooks
Filming video content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Facebook
Editing short videos quickly and cleanly
Adding captions/subtitles where needed
Creating simple thumbnails/covers where required
Writing captions and basic post copy
Posting or scheduling content across social platforms
Helping identify what content is performing best
Suggesting new content formats and ideas
Working with us to create repeatable video formats that generate attention and enquiries

What we are looking for

You must be able to show examples of short-form videos you have personally filmed and edited.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience creating short-form video
Understands TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
Can film confidently on-site
Can edit quickly without over-polishing
Understands hooks, pacing, captions and social-first storytelling
Can create high-volume content from filming sessions
Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
Can travel to Royston / Cambridge / Hertfordshire area
Has a portfolio, social media examples, or client work to show
Ideally has helped businesses generate enquiries, bookings, leads or strong reach through short-form content

Nice to have

Experience working with small businesses
Experience filming people, classes, events, education, family activities or local businesses
Basic social media strategy knowledge
Experience with CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva or similar tools
Own filming equipment, although a good phone setup may be enough if the quality is strong
Ability to review simple analytics and suggest improvements

Output expectations

We are aiming for around 1-2 short videos per day, depending on what is realistic from filming sessions and content quality.

A typical monthly structure may include:

Regular on-site filming sessions
Remote editing
20+ edited short videos per month
Posting/scheduling support
Monthly review of what content is working

We care more about quality, speed and consistency than polished corporate video production.
