We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our new site team in Rugby. Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a warehouse environment, preferably from an ecommerce environment. You may also have experience of a new site set up or a background in third party logistics. Either would be advantageous but not essential.
You will be responsible for leading all day‑to‑day warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role ensures operational excellence, drives continuous improvement, and supports the delivery of outstanding customer service while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. And just as importantly, you will support us to continue to drive our people focused culture as we grow and embed our new team.
Your key responsibilities:

Lead, plan, and manage daily warehouse operations including in-bound, packing and out-bound.

Monitor and optimise operational workflows to meet productivity, accuracy, and service-level targets.

Ensure appropriate staffing levels, shift planning, and resource allocation to meet business demand.

Manage warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and operational staff.

Set performance expectations and deliver coaching, training, and development to build a high‑performing team.

Conduct regular performance reviews, manage absence, and address conduct or capability issues fairly and consistently.

Ensure full compliance with all H&S legislation, company policies, and industry standards.

Lead site safety initiatives, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and strengthen accuracy.

Support the set up of the site, its process and its teams and support the embedding of the site post launch.

Oversee stock integrity, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.

Ensure accurate use of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and other operational systems.

Monitor performance KPIs and provide regular operational reports to senior management and our main customer.
Your skills and experience

Previous experience in an Operations Manager role in a 3PL environment.

Proven track record of managing teams in a fast‑paced operational environment

Strong leadership and team‑management capability.

Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Deep understanding of warehouse operations, supply chain processes, and logistics.

Knowledge of H&S regulations and best practices.

Experience using WMS or ERP systems.

Ability to analyse data and make evidence‑based decisions.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
