Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tractor Driver / Agricultural, Horticultural & Forestry Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating agricultural machinery, maintaining and repairing equipment, and supporting various horticultural and forestry activities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on sustainable land management and crop production. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for agriculture, grounds maintenance and forestry operations.

Duties

Operating tractors and other heavy machinery essential for planting, harvesting, and land maintenance (Fendt, JCB and JD)
Being able to work in an airside/ airport environment
Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge
Supporting horticultural activities such as grass cutting, planting, pruning, and general horticultural maintenance
Assisting with tree works and habitat maintenance
Using hand tools and power tools for various tasks related to equipment repair and land preparation
Conducting basic maths calculations for measurements, quantities, and scheduling tasks
Heavy lifting of materials, plants, or equipment as required in daily operations
Ensuring safety protocols are followed during all activities to maintain a safe working environment

Experience

Previous experience operating agricultural or forestry machinery is essential and further training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of horticulture practices is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance is highly valued
Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance procedures is preferred
Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
Basic understanding of horticultural principles or forestry practices will be beneficial
