Heavy Plant Operator (scrap handling & processing) – Runtech Ltd

We have a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated Heavy Plant Operator, based at our client’s sites across the UK. We pride ourselves on fostering a great working environment, if you’re passionate about doing great things in a fast-moving industry, we’d love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sorting and processing various materials and must have experience operating heavy plant in a scrap handling environment. Evidence of skills and experience will be required.

Key attributes:

Flexible and adaptable attitude showing a willingness to succeed
Demonstrating a positive and motivated attitude
Experience in a scrap processing environment
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Comply with Health & Safety procedure at all times

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out prestart checks prior to operating plant.
Operating various size Excavators and Material Handlers up to 50T with scrap shears, rail crackers, selector grabs and magnets.
Processing oversize material to meet client specifications.
Working on Runtech and client sites across the UK.

Essential Qualifications:

Full and clean UK Driving Licence
CPCS/NPORS or MPQC Excavator / Material Handler Qualification
Experience of operating mechanical shears (desirable)

Package:

40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday
Overtime available depending on the needs of the business, which could include weekends
Rate of pay is £15.75 per hour
Auto enrolled onto the company pension scheme
PPE Provided

Compliance & Pre-Employment Checks

All successful candidates will be required to complete:

Drug & alcohol screening
Company & Site inductions and safety training
