Job summary

We are seeking a proactive and safety‑focused Technical Support professional to join the Permit Co‑ordination Office (PCO). This hands‑on role sits at the heart of a dynamic contractor‑management environment and plays a vital part in ensuring that all staff and contractors work safely, securely, and in full compliance with the MoDs 4Cs system of control (JSP 375).

Working closely with, and under the direction of, the PCO Technical Lead, you will support the safe delivery of work across the estate by managing contractor access, reviewing safety documentation, and carrying out physical audits and inspections. You will act as a key gateway for contractors entering Dstl sites, providing technical health and safety advice and assurance through both planned and reactive interventions.

Job description

In this role you will support and represent the PCO Technical Lead as required along with monitoring contractor compliance with Safe System of Work (SSoW), RAMs etc. in active works.

You will also technically review contractor PQQ, RAMS and other safety paperwork and acting as the gateway for approving or rejecting.

Person specification

We are looking for someone who has experience of reviewing of methods of controlling workplace hazards and risks as well as experience of working with a number of key stakeholders; including contractors, FM providers, internal SEMs and workplace custodians.

You will also have an understanding of key legal elements of health and safety policy.
