Semi-Senior AccountantAbout the Role
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, work with greater autonomy, and grow toward a senior role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with financial standards.
- Liaise directly with clients to gather information, answer queries, and build strong working relationships
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with tax planning and advisory for clients, identifying opportunities to minimise tax obligations
- Assist with the preparation of bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns.
- Maintain and improve accounting procedures and
- Support managers and partners on complex engagements and special projects
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback and guidance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of taxation legislation and accounting standards
- Contribute to workflow management and meeting filing deadlines
About You
Required:
- Experience in practice within the accounting industry.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (public practice or industry)
- Progressing toward or holding a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA or hold AAT qualification)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Iris, Taxcalc or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Pay: From £26,500.00 per year
