Role overview

We are seeking a skilled Thermal Plastic Welder to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is essential to our continued success, requiring precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to quality. You will be responsible for welding various thermal plastic materials used in our manufacturing processes, ensuring all work meets strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Perform thermal plastic welding using specialised equipment and techniques to join plastic components accurately and efficiently.
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete welding tasks to the highest standards.
Inspect welded joints to ensure quality, integrity, and compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Maintain and calibrate welding equipment, reporting any faults or required repairs promptly.
Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of welding activities and material usage.

Required qualifications & skills

Proven experience as a Thermal Plastic Welder or in a similar role within the Manufacturing & Industrial sector.
Comprehensive knowledge of thermal plastic welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to welding and manufacturing environments.
Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.

Desirable qualifications

Relevant welding certification or NVQ qualifications.
Experience working in aerospace or defence manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
