We are currently looking for a motivated Control Panel Builder / Electrical Wirer to join our team in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
The Role
You will be involved in the manufacture, assembly, testing, installation, and support of industrial control systems. This is a hands-on role with variety across panel building, wiring, testing, and occasional site work.

- Need to be based within 30 miles of PE27
Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical control panels to a high standard
- Assemble electrical cabinets and mechanical components
- Carry out PCB assembly and soldering tasks
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Support workshop assembly and general mechanical fitting duties
- Assist with testing, fault finding, and problem solving on control systems
- Support maintenance and upgrades of existing automation systems
- Assist with PLC, HMI, and industrial communication systems (programming, maintenance, and upgrades)
- Support design, build, installation, and commissioning of automation projects
- Maintain stock levels within the panel build workshop
- Attend customer sites when required for installation, commissioning, fault finding, and modifications
About You
- 1–2 years' experience building or wiring control panels
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Electrical qualifications or relevant electrical knowledge
- Good soldering skills
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Experience in electrical, controls, manufacturing, or automation environments is desirable
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

- 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday), 7:00am – 4:00pm
