Full job description

Cambridge Meridian Golf Club opened in 1994 and rapidly gained a glowing reputation by offering its golfers a challenging but fair test of their skill. With its eye-catching fairways and striking USGA standard greens, it’s no surprise that the course has become a favourite in the East of England.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team and we have big plans for the club in the near future. This has stemmed from a recent development scheme, that will deliver a 5* boutique establishment with service and accommodation to rival the very best the UK has to offer.

It’s a very exciting time to be joining us as we look forward to this transformation and we will require enthusiastic and dependable staff to help us to reach our long-term goals!

The Role

As Club Steward, you will assist the catering manager to ensure the smooth running of the bar and clubhouse on a day-to-day basis and support the organisation and service of internal functions. Ideally you will have previous experience in customer-facing roles and present a warm welcome to members, guests and visitors, though this is not essential as full training will be provided.

You will also be responsible for the security of the clubhouse at the end of the working day, and you will have a confident telephone manner and be able to handle the booking of tee times for golfers and visitors alike.

As you progress in the role, there will be lots of opportunity for development and promotion, which we are keen to prioritise internally. This makes it a great opportunity for someone looking to carve out a career in the hospitality industry and those with an established background in customer service.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day operations of the club
Assist in general administrative work when required
Open and close premises
Answer telephone queries and make bookings
Assist with internal functions and events
Other duties as directed by the Catering Manager
