Full job description

Axeology is looking for an energetic, confident, and adventurous individual to join our team as an Axe Throwing Instructor at our indoor venue in Southampton. If you’re a people person who thrives in lively environments and you want to be part of our exciting developments for 2026, this could be the perfect role for you.

This isn’t just a standard instructor position.

You’ll be trusted with real responsibility. From opening and closing the venue to holding keys and supporting day‑to‑day operations, you’ll play a key role in keeping Axeology running smoothly.

Hours could be between 15 - 30 per week depending on bookings.

Job Overview

Opening and closing the venue and ensuring all operational standards are met
Holding keys and taking responsibility for the site during your shifts
Maintaining axe targets and ensuring throwing lanes are safe and ready
Delivering engaging instruction, demonstrations, and safety briefings
Carrying out venue safety checks and general maintenance
Training and developing team members
Managing bookings via phone and email
Monitoring stock levels and managing inventory
Supporting the management of venue accounts and administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For

A natural leader who leads by example
Sales driven and confident in promoting our experiences
Someone who consistently goes the extra mile for customers
Available on weekday evenings and most weekends
A genuine passion for axe throwing (enthusiasm is essential)
Some experience of leading or assisting in leading a team
Basic first‑aid knowledge
Self‑sufficient, reliable, and calm under pressure
