About Smith Bradbeer & Co Ltd: Established in 1837, Smith Bradbeer & Co Ltd is a successful, family-owned independent retail business with two Department Stores, two Furniture Stores, a Removals & Storage Company, and a Furniture Rental service. We are preparing to open our third Department Store in Salisbury and are recruiting high-performing Retail Department Managers/Buyers to help our business grow and succeed. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new store opening.

Requirements:

· To ensure high standards of customer service is provided by all departmental staff.

· To deal with any customer complaints promptly and efficiently.

· To operate the computerised till and complete all necessary paperwork.

· To maintain a high level of security for both cash and stock.

· Liase with and assist Buyers/Managers regarding stock levels, giving feedback on ranges and placing top-up orders as appropriate

· To monitor visual merchandising of the department and ensure staff understand the disciplines regarding stock displays.

· Ensure the receiving, unpacking, pricing and delivery of stock onto shop floor is completed in a tidy and safety conscious manner.

· To maintain housekeeping standards within the department by ensuring that fixtures and fittings are cleaned on a daily basis.

· To carrying out stock checks and audits, as directed by the manager.

· To ensure standards of departmental staff dress are to the Company standard.

· To organise day-to-day running of the department, ensuring sufficient staff remain on the department at all times.

· To carry out on-the-job induction training for all new staff, to include tour of department, till training and Company customer service standards.

The list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and the employee may be required to perform duties outside of this brief as is operationally required and at the discretion of their line manager.
