Production Lead Operative
We are looking to recruit a Lead Operative working in our Production department based in Kingsway Business Park, Rochdale.
As Lead operative, you will require good attention to detail. You will be leading all areas of Production to meet daily orders. It is a hands-on position where you will be required to actively get involved with the completion of the tasks within the department whilst leading staff.
Hours: 2.00pm – 10.00pm shift (Monday – Friday)
Key tasks
- Working with all areas of Production to ensure products are produced and packed in a timely manner.
- To be the first point of contact for all staff queries, if you are unable to assist escalate the concern to your manager.
- Basic knowledge on Health and Safety procedures, including the completion of incident, accident, and near-miss reports, with the ability to identify and report hazards in line with company policies. Previous Health and Safety training would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Active monitoring of stock levels to check what needs to be produced/filled, take appropriate action to ensure correct stock levels.
- Ensure all team members have the relevant training to carry out their role and assist with staff training through the “Building Capability” scheme.
- Work with management team to consistently hit KPI targets
- End of shift reporting / Walkaway standards
- Liaising and supporting other Departments (DTC, Pick, Goods in)
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Previous Supervisory / team leader experience is preferred but not essential along with Production experience. Training will be given.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles, QC Tools, Time and Motion Studies, VSM would be desirable and considered an advantage, although not a mandatory requirement.
- Numerate and literate

- IT literate with knowledge of stock systems
