Job description

G&P Healthcare are a double award-winning home healthcare company, and we are looking for new staff members to provide care to children with complex care needs at home and in school. We are seeking a caring and compassionate person, if you feel you have these qualities please apply.

· 6 months previous care experience is essential

· You MUST be a car driver/owner.

· Clear DBS is required.

· The ability to learn new complex skills.

We have multiple children who are currently attending school that need a 1 to 1 healthcare assistant with them for any medical needs during school hours and Nights. The healthcare assistant will also assist them at home before and after school. We are looking for a friendly and supportive person to join our client as their healthcare assistant, before, during and after school, Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:00. If you are able to work during the school holidays, we can also accommodate.

You will stay with him for the day to ensure he is safe and be able to tend to his health care needs but you will not be involved in any of the educational aspects of his day. You will work alongside his family at home, and with our fully trained and experienced school healthcare assistants when at school.

Full training for all aspects of his care will be given with 24 hour support from our nurses and senior staff.

Complex care training will be given by one of our nurses, to meet the needs of each individual client. You will learn lots of new skills and gain experience in complex care including

- Nasal and Oral Suctioning

- Oxygen Administration

- Gastrostomy Care (PEG Feeding)

- Moving and Handling

- Medication Administration

- Long term ventilation

- Tracheostomy care

- Seizure management
