Full job description

The Tea Tree is a beautiful, heritage‑inspired café tea room, based in Hemel Hemp, known for elegant afternoon teas, warm hospitality, and high‑quality food. We are looking for a talented and reliable Cook & Afternoon Tea Chef who can confidently handle both hot food cooking and baking.

The Role

We are seeking someone who can:

professionally trained cook / pastry chef enable to train a team with new dishes
Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes
Bake cakes, scones, pastries, and afternoon tea items
Assemble and present afternoon tea stands to a high standard
Manage prep efficiently during busy periods
Maintain consistency, portion control, and quality
Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards
Support menu development with seasonal ideas, and catering for private events

What We’re Looking For

Experience in both cooking and baking (essential)
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Strong attention to detail and presentation
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Experience in cafés, bakeries, hotels, or afternoon tea settings is a must
Passion for quality and consistency
